Data Protection Policy for the Activities connected with the East Marine Ecosystems Meetings

This policy covers the mailings East Marine Ecosystem Meetings (EASTME) undertake in organising its related activities (publicising meeting outputs, conference and annual reports).

EASTME is a not-for-profit organisation. This data protection policy describes EASTME’s approach to meet the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); it includes the following elements:

1. Personal data held  For routine mailings using the Mailchimp emailing service EASTME holds the name, email address and in some cases organisation details of contacts. It is EASTME’s policy to hold as little personal data as possible on contacts and to make its policy and processes as transparent as possible.
2. Risk Assessment From EASTME’s understanding of the GDPR regulations the data we hold would be a low risk information in relation to our contacts.
3. External systems The routine emailing system is with Mailchimp and Eventbrite for conference booking processes.
4. Unsubscribing All emails sent via mailchimp carry an unsubscribe option or if you wish the data  controller, Bex Lynam will remove your details – details provided on the contact page.
